The El Camino College Federation of Teachers has the distinction of being the oldest American Federation of Teachers local in California.  Its charter was granted November 4, 1960. From that time forward your Federation Executive Board has worked tirelessly to ensure that El Camino College Faculty mantains a strong employment contract and excellent working conditions.

CFT Part-time Faculty Committee

As the statewide affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers, the CFT represents faculty and other school employees. The CFT Part-time Faculty Committee advances the interests of contingent faculty.

QuEST 2009 Highlights
Highlights from the recently concluded 2009 AFT QuEST conference in Washington, D.C., included AFT president Randi Weingarten's keynote address, a town hall meeting with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, a panel on community schools and remarks from U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis.
